Safety Tips
When soldering, make sure to turn on the fume absorber (the black appliance with a carbon filter and grill on the front of it located on the soldering bench). *We also have disposable dust masks located in front of the woodshop available for patrons to use.
Antistatic wrist straps are available in the workbench drawers if needed. These can be used to ground you when working on sensitive electronic equipment. They prevent the buildup of static electricity on your body, which can cause electrostatic discharge.
Always make sure devices/switches are in the “OFF” position when working with them.
Never try to repair or touch any electrical equipment with wet hands! Just keep water away from the bench!
Always use insulated equipment, and never use equipment with frayed cords, damaged insulation, or broken plugs.
Ask for help if you need it!
